NAME

supown, supgrp, subown, subgrpexchange file ownership between subdo(7) supers and subs

SYNOPSIS

supown [-R] file ...

supgrp [-R] file ...

subown [-R] package file ...

subgrp [-R] package file ...

DESCRIPTION

These utilities provide limited ability to change a file's owner or group. They are intended to be run through doas(1) or sudo(1).
With subown and subgrp a super gives a file to one of its subs. With supown and supgrp a super takes a file from one of its subs. subown and supown change the file owner; subgrp and supgrp change the file group.

ARGUMENTS

-R
Recurse.
file
Change owner or group of this file.
supown and subown arguments are passed to chown(8). supgrp and subgrp arguments are passed to chgrp(8).
